Cary, NC — Don’t know how we missed this, but German Grille has opened in Cary. It’s located in the Harrison Pointe Shopping Center next to The Big Easy and across from Staples.

German Grille Opens in Cary

German Grille offers hearty German beer (on tap!) and homemade bratwurst, schnitzel and red cabbage.

The menu offers four kinds of brats, German pretzels Kartoffel Puffer (Potato Pancakes), Schweinshaxen (Knuckle of Pork), Kasseler Rippchen (Bone In Smoked Loin Pork Chop) and Bratwürste Hasenpfeffer Tiroler Art, among other traditional dishes.

Bratwürste Hasenpfeffer Tiroler Art  – Baked Rabbit Thigh & Sausage served in Chef Paul’s red sauce
With 2 Knödel, Potatoes Dumplings, Red Cabbage, Brot & Honey Butter

Other interesting dishes include Drunken Bavarian Chicken, Gulasch and many types of Schnitzel. What’s Schnitzel? – boneless meat, thinned with a meat tenderizer, coated with flour, beaten eggs and bread crumbs, and then fried, according to Wikipedia. German Grille even has a Schnitzel Parmagiana, so you get the idea.

German Grille also offers soups and salads as well as “smaller” plates. Take a look at the menu.

The new restaurant is from the same owner as Bavarian Brathouse in Durham (now closed).

Wunderbar! Can’t wait to eat at this place! And with World Cup this June, I know where I’ll be! 🙂

Went there today for lunch. Note that they are only open for lunch on Friday and Saturday AND they don’t open until noon. There were about 15 people in line when they opened today.

The food was very good, but service was very slow. A few people walked out. They certainly need to staff up and probably open earlier for lunch.
